Welcome to The Option Read!
As our sister site, Outfield Fly Rule, has done with baseball, we hope to bring you some football-related things that are worth your time. If you glance at the top of the page, you’ll see 3 menu options that are a bit of what we’ll be offering here at the Option Read:
- Coaching Changes – A quick reference to see who has been fired, who has been hired, and how many NFL and FBS jobs have seen turnover in the current season.
- Coaches – This endeavor is pretty high-ambition, so it will grow slowly, but in the Coaches section you’ll find Coach Pages dedicated to individual coaches. They’ll be filled with about as much info on a coach as we can think to provide, so we hope it eventually becomes your first stop when you want questions answered. Check out our Mark Richt or Troy Calhoun page (the first two) to see what we hope to eventually offer on every coach. They’re on hold for now until the 2015 season is completed. At that point, we’ll update the current pages and get started on more!
- Georgia Bulldogs – While we here at The Option Read will not limit ourselves to discussing local teams, we realize local readership will dominate. For Georgia fans, we have a hybrid roster available. It breaks the team down by position, showing current players, their recruiting rank, and class. It also includes future players, which means you no longer have to bounce back and forth between multiple sites. Have a look, UGA fans!
These won’t be the only pages we’ll offer. We have some pretty extensive research on the NFL Draft that could get rolled out in the early part of 2016. One of our authors is already researching trends of close game results in the NFL. We’ll cover head coach hirings and firings, and this will become the home of the rankings and weekly previews that you came to love (and hate) on Outfield Fly Rule. Hopefully soon we can add a Falcons payroll page.
